LONDON (Brand Republic) - Sportech, owner of Littlewoods Pools, is involved in distribution talks with broadcaster BSkyB and lottery operator Camelot.
The gaming group is 鈥渆xploring every possible way鈥 to widen its distribution network for its football pools stakes, including sales through interactive TV and lottery terminals, according to managing director Colin McGill. The stakes are currently sold mainly door to door to 1.6m homes.
Sportech has slowed the annual decline of 27% in revenues from football pools stakes to 20% by introducing new games and products, and is launching a new marketing campaign aimed at a younger audience later in the year.
Football pools stakes made up £44m of a £63m turnover for Sportech during the last 15 months. The remainder came from games, lotteries and sports betting. Sportech鈥檚 share price rose 8% to 20p this morning.
