Between the Lines: Cannes can bring benefits

Although some feared that the Cannes International Advertising Festival would change beyond recognition following its acquisition by Emap, to date it has been a case of business as usual.

This week, the organisers unveiled the juries of the various categories.

Among the Brits, Kate Stanners, Ed Morris, Marc Mendoza, Mitch Levy, Gerry Moira and Malcolm Poynton will make their voices heard (page 6). It's an invitation few turn down: it's good for the CV and good for insight into global trends in creativity.

For Stanners, Morris and Moira, the offer has come at a good time; they are all new to their current creative directorships and will benefit from the profile that participating in the Cannes judging process supplies.
