Lifestyle data to help break new ground up north

Yorkshire Forward, the regional development agency for Yorkshire and Humber, has announced it is to use lifestyle data in what is thought to be a first for the public sector.

It has teamed up with Claritas in a three-year deal that will see it use the data to gain a detailed picture of households and business owners.

This will enable in-depth regional planning activity through the evaluation of public service and governmental targets.

Key projects will include the identification of business ownership and start-up activity. The data will also be used to develop a greater understanding of levels of deprivation in rural areas.
