Lidl invites punters to its school of Christmas in new campaign

Lidl has released its festive campaign for 2015, imagining a Christmas school where people learn essential skills for surviving the holiday season.

The cut-price supermarket released the ad on social media on the morning of 1 November and will air on on TV this evening.

The spot, which was created by TBWA\London, opens on a group of people being invited into Lidl’s school of Christmas, and then being taught how to light Christmas puddings and untangle fairy lights, among other things.

Lidl’s head of communications, Georgina O’Donnell, said: "We wanted to find a way of helping to make this time of year a little more stress free for other families. Our hope is that Lidl’s #SchoolOfChristmas will do just that.

"With a splash of humour, our various ‘classes’, featuring across multiple channels, will help shoppers navigate this tricky time of year and get every ‘Lidl’ thing they need for Christmas."

The work was created by Ben Fallows and Matt Deacon, and directed by Jim Gilchrist through Outsider. Starcom Mediavest Group bought the media.
