Liberty to buy News Corp's <BR>stake in Premiere World

LONDON - US media group Liberty Media is said to be close to buying News Corporation's 22% stake in Kirch Group's loss-making German pay-TV station Premier World, which has an estimated value of £907.7m.

Negotiations between Rupert Murdoch's News Corp and Liberty Media chairman John Malone are said to be close to completion, a spokesman for Liberty said. He added that they have agreed in principle and a completion of the deal is expected in the next few weeks.

However, the two sides have yet to reach agreement over the price of the stake.
