Liam Gallagher promotes News of the World mag

News of the World TV is promoting its pilot men's magazine Jam with a TV ad flagging its interview with former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher and a CD cover mount of free songs by his new band.

The ad by WCRS & Co uses footage of Gallagher and his new band, Beady Eye, recording their song 'The Roller'. TV presenter Dermot O'Leary provides the voiceover.

Jam's It is accompanied an exclusive CD giveaway by Beady Eye, which features five tracks, including three from their debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’, and a 17-minute interview with the band.

The title is being positioned as a one-off, although if successful it will roll out to become a regular product. The pilot issue has secured 13 main advertisers including beauty brands Alberto Culver and L'Oreal.

Mindshare is handling the campaign's media planning and buying.

Jam promises great celebrity interviews, men's fashion and grooming, plus in-depth investigative features about gadgets, fitness, food, music and film. It is edited by Mark Hayman, with Joely Carey as editorial director.

A star-studded list of guest writers include Professor Brian Cox on science, Sex Pistols front man John Lydon on the Royal Wedding, Johnny Vaughan on gadgets and Marco Pierre White on food.

Hayman said: "Jam magazine is rock 'n' roll in print. It's your perfect night out down the pub wrapped up in a stylish mix of grooming, music, gadgets and fashion you can actually afford.

"With the best line-up since the original Live Aid, Jam magazine will be rocking your world this Sunday."
