LG, the electronics giant, is to tour locations around the UK to promote its high definition (HD) televisions as the country begins its digital television switchover.

The campaign, which takes place at electronic stores around the UK, will target the areas that are affected by the digital switchover as it occurs.

The tour will make an appearance at Lord's cricket ground from 5-18 June during the Twenty20 World Cup. It will then tour Argos, Currys and Comet stores in digital switchover regions.

The roadshow will take place in a 20ft custom built van that visitors can go inside and talk to LG representatives about what the switchover means for them and why HD sets are superior to traditional technology.

"The tour comes off the back of research that shows 80% of UK households are confused by jargon associated with TV purchases," said an LG spokesperson. "The tour will follow the areas affected by the switchover as it progresses through the country."
