Lévy: Sorrell's successor should not be 'wicked and nasty'

Maurice Lévy, the chairman and chief executive of Publicis Groupe, has told ±±¾©Èü³µpk10 that whoever succeeds WPP's chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell needs to be "a good human being - not wicked and nasty."

He said: "Whoever succeeds [Sorrell] needs to be a good human being – not wicked and nasty, generous and not greedy, sharing and not selfish or egotistical."

Lévy’s comments come after WPP’s chairman Roberto Quarta acknowledged that the world’s largest marketing services company has begun both an internal and external search for Sorrell’s successor.

In WPP’s 2015 Annual Report, Quarta wrote: "At some point we all leave our jobs. The question is when. Whether, in Sir Martin’s case, that happens tomorrow, in one, two, three, four or five years, or even over a longer period, we have already begun to identify internal and external candidates who should be considered."

Lévy is himself due to retire in May 2017.
