Leo Burnett Worldwide promotes Sirkin to global role

NEW YORK - Leo Burnett Worldwide has promoted Clive Sirkin to the global role of group managing director, following the departure last year of worldwide president Bob Brennan and global chief operating officer Steve Gatfield.

The managing director role is a newly created one and will see Sirkin develop a worldwide business strategy, reporting to Leo Burnett Worldwide chairman and chief executive officer Linda Wolf.

In addition to his new role he will continue to oversee the Kellogg's account and Leo Burnett's Canadian operations.

"Clive will ensure the agency is appropriately focused against a unified multinational strategy and operating model at every level of the organisation," Wolf said.

Gatfield and Brennan left the company in September and October 2003 respectively. The agency had a hard time, losing key accounts last year including Philips Electronics and Polaroid, but it finished the year on a high note winning the 拢64m global Wella account.

Sirkin has been with Leo Burnett for 15 years, holding senior management positions at Leo Burnett Canada between 1994 and 1998, during which time it was twice voted agency of the year by Canadian trade press.
