Leo Burnett London retains Beck's UK task

InBev has announced that Leo Burnett London will be retained to create all work for the Beck's brand in the UK market.

The decision follows last month's news that the global business is being moved into the Los Angeles-based agency Ground Zero.

The brewer called a global pitch in June this year looking for an agency to create a worldwide brief that could be adapted for local markets.

Agencies competing for the business included Leo Burnett EMEA, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Lowe, Springer & Jacoby, Duval Guillaume and Ground Zero.

Leo Burnett was appointed by InBev in November 2005 to work on both the Beck's business and its Leffe brand. The London agency will now be involved in working on new creative briefs for the UK client, as well as adapting the global work for the UK market. This week the agency launched a new poster campaign for a Beck's brand extension, called Beck's Vier.

Kev Mallinder, the portfolio brand director at InBev UK, said: "We are delighted to continue our relationship with Leo Burnett London."

Paul Lawson, the managing director at Leo Burnett, said: "We're proud of the work we've done for Beck's to date, and delighted to be continuing our relationship with a client that shares our desire to push the brand forward in new and innovative ways."
