Leith wins £2m Silentnight advertising account

LONDON - Silentnight has handed its 拢2m advertising business to Leith London following a three-way pitch.

The review followed the company's decision to part with its advertising agency of five years Mortimer Whittaker O'Sullivan in May.

Silentnight marketing controller Clive Whittaker said Leith London's first work for Silentnight will run in the New Year and will consist primarily of TV.

Whittaker added there would be a significant "programme of brand development going forward". The agency will be working on a similar brief to the one MWO was working on before the account left the agency.

MWO, which created Silentnight's "hippo and duck" campaign, said it resigned the account because of a lack of clarity over the direction of its advertising.

However, at the time Silentnight said it had not heard from MWO about the resignation and said a number of agencies were pitching for the business.

The campaign planned for the New Year will be the first work produced by an agency for Silentnight marketing director Julie Leivers since she joined the company last year from GlaxoSmithKline.
