The three-day event, produced by Brick Shows, a joint venture of the UK Lotus User group and Peninsular Exhibitions, will take place between 9 and 11 May. It aims to showcase Lego fan builders and professional Lego artists.

Features of the event will include workshops with professional brick builders, the brick marketplace with new and second-hand Lego products for sale, and displays by international Lego fans.

Warren Elsmore, director of The Lego Show 2014, said: "Following a fantastic couple of years in Manchester, we had a lot of fans keen for us to bring the show to London. The O2 is the perfect venue for us and we’re looking forward to an amazing show.

"2014 is a big year for Lego toys and with the release of the Lego Movie in February this will be a celebratory occasion for all fans."

Rebecca Kane, general manager at The O2, added: "We are very excited to be the host venue for The Lego Show. Attracting events of this ilk continues to highlight the diversity of the spaces that we house in The O2, and strengthens our position as a premier entertainment destination."
