The Learning & Skills Council is responsible for funding and planning education and training for over 16-year-olds in England and was recently tasked with leading the delivery of the National Skills Strategy announced by the government in its Skills Strategy White Paper, which is intended to drive up the nation's competitiveness and productivity.
LSC chairman Bryan Sanderson has committed the organisation to putting the training and skills needs of the nation back to centre stage. "The future economic prosperity of our nation depends on getting this right. The LSC is committed to ensuring that we do," he said.
Martikas has been tasked with creating a design that promotes the LSC brand, as well as providing information on current campaigns.
The LSC recently unveiled a redesigned , part of its effort to update its image.
The new site comprises seven channels, six of which are aimed at specific customer segments and offer clear customer focus. Three of these channels -- corporate, media and partner -- are already fully developed, offering a range of online services and facilities.
Three other channels -- employer, young people and adult learner -- are currently in various stages of development.
Design agency Martikas grew out of sister company AMK Media, which was started by Nikolaos Martikas eight years ago as a media planning and buying agency.
