Leagas Delaney San Francisco team quit over Envoy deal

NEW YORK - Four senior executives at Leagas Delaney's San Francisco office have quit over disagreements about the agency's on-going deal to merge with Canadian company Envoy Communications.

Managing director Courtney Buechert, creative directors Harry Cocciolo and Sean Ehringer and director of strategic planning Rob Kabus are reported to have left because they disagree with the Envoy deal.

The agency has been in talks with Envoy for months, but problems with agreeing a price following the decline in the worldwide ad market have delayed this.

It is thought Leagas Delaney will consider other suitors should the deal with Envoy collapse.Separately, Vince Engel has been hired as new president and executive creative director of the San Francisco office.

He was previously executive creative director at Lowe Lintas in San Francisco, and before that a creative director at Weiden & Kennedy in Portland. The agency, set up in California five years ago, is Leagas Delaney's only office in the US, and is not thought to be shedding further staff.
