Land Rover launches global green campaign

LONDON - Land Rover has launched a global green campaign called 'Our planet' as part of what it claims is the world's biggest CO2 offset programme.

The campaign sets out the progress Land Rover has made in improving its environmental performance and its global conservation and humanitarian projects. It includes a national press campaign and online activity.

A dedicated has been created that was developed by Rees Bradley Hepburn/Engage.

The website has been launched in conjunction with national press ads devised by Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, while Wunderman Interactive created online ads to drive traffic to the new site.

The campaign coincides with Land Rover's 60th anniversary and the unveiling of the LRX Concept car, which is being shown at the Detroit Motor Show this week.

Land Rover said the concept car has the potential to reduce CO2 emissions below 120g/km thanks to an efficient footprint, lightweight material and hybrid technology.

The company said it has already spent £700m in tandem with Jaguar on technology specifically aimed at reducing CO2.
