- GMG Radio's Smooth Radio East Midlands has appointed Jo Morley as its new sales manager. Morley, who joins the station this month, has more than 12 years' experience within media, having spent six years at GCap Media in various account manager roles, finally as a client development manager.
- PHD North has hired Michelle Lowe, previously at MediaVest Manchester, as its interactive media manager. It has also made several internal promotions, including Lorraine Jones, who has been promoted to planning director from account director, and Emma Horton, who has been promoted to account director from media manager.
- Yasmin Jetha has been appointed chief operating officer at the Financial Times. Jetha will be leading the FT's global operations strategy and will be responsible for streamlining business processes. Jetha joined the FT as chief information officer in January 2006.
- ITV director of trade marketing Julia Porter has bolstered her team with the appointment of two marketing managers. Feryal Hemanda joins as marketing manager responsible for itvmedia.com, from Discovery Networks Europe, where she was trade marketing manager. Cecilie Meyer Reber becomes marketing manager of events and hospitality. She previously worked at BBC Worldwide and Viasat Broadcasting.
- Eyeconomy/NASH, the online ad outfit, has appointed Ricardo Collison as its new head of operations. Collison was previously operations director at Walker Media.
- Reader's Digest has appointed Noel Nallen as sales manager within the advertising team. Nallen joins from The Guardian agency sales team, where he was sales manager.
- Discovery Networks International has promoted Dan Brooke to the position of executive vice-president and managing director, Discovery Networks UK. Brooke was appointed general manager, Discovery Networks UK, in July 2005
- Online recruitment site iProfile has appointed Karl Gregory as marketing director. Previously, Gregory was head of marketing for Yahoo Search, UK & Ireland, as well as holding senior marketing roles with TouchLocal, MindShare and AltaVista.
