LA Times to axe up to 200 jobs

The Los Angeles Times is understood to be considering axing between 150 and 200 jobs following its purchase by US newspaper group Tribune in June.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – The Los Angeles Times is understood to be considering axing between 150 and 200 jobs following its purchase by US newspaper group Tribune in June.

The jobs are to go from the LA Times’ Community News division, according to speculation, in what is to be the first round of a series of editorial redundancies. An official announcement is anticipated later today.

The jobs are understood to be going from the LA Times’ San Fernando Valley and Orange County editions.
