Kwik-Fit in hunt for top marketer after sudden exit

Kwik-Fit marketing director Steve Wallis has left the company after

ten months.

Wallis was poached from DIY specialist Black & Decker in January and,

according to a Kwik-Fit spokesman, has left for personal reasons. It is

understood that he is relocating to England from Edinburgh, where he was

based.

Wallis could not be reached for comment and it is not known whether he

has a job to go to. Group director of marketing Doug McKenzie will

assume Wallis' responsibilities until a replacement is found.

Wallis was responsible for the marketing of all Kwik-Fit's repair

centres and oversaw agency relationships.

Faulds Advertising was appointed to Kwik-Fit's £8m above-the-line

account three years ago.

Advertising for the brand features the strapline 'You can't get better

than a Kwik-Fit fitter', which has been in use since 1985.
