Kmart names first marketing chief

US retailer Kmart has recruited its first chief marketing officer, Brent Willis, as part of the US’s second largest retailer drives to improve lagging performance.

LONDON (Brand Republic) – US retailer Kmart has recruited its first chief marketing officer, Brent Willis, as part of the US’s second largest retailer drives to improve lagging performance.

Willis, previously the president of Coca-Cola’s Latin American Venecol division, will be responsible for managing all marketing, communications, advertising and brand development. He will report to president and chief operating officer Andy Giancamilli.

Willis’ appointment comes as part of a new strategy implemented by new Kmart chairman and chief executive Chuck Conaway, who was brought in earlier this year to revitalise the chain.
