KLM carrier eyes broader service

LONDON - Transavia.com, the KLM-owned low-cost carrier, has appointed Landor to conduct a brand review as it seeks to reposition from an airline to a travel provider.

The company is aiming to establish itself as a travel brand offering a range of products and services such as car hire and hotels. It will operate across Europe using a web-based business model.

Landor, which was hired following a pitch against five undisclosed agencies, has been briefed to devise a single identity to optimise the positioning and create a coherent brand experience.

The rebranded company will compete against online travel firms including lastminute.com and Expedia.
