Kia said it had held discussions with media agencies but retained Starcom Motive because of cost and quality. It is the second time the car firm has retained the agency following a review; the first took place last May.
The decision follows Kia's reappointment of Mustoes to its 拢10m creative business last November. Mustoes retained the account after a four-way pitch against Grey London, Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest and St Luke's.
Two weeks ago, it was revealed that Kia was seeking a marketing director following the surprise departure of head of marketing Guy Jones, who left without a job to go to (Marketing, March 4).
Starcom Motive group account director Will Phipps claimed the agency had boosted Kia sales to a record level with a comparatively low media budget. Last year, Kia gained a 1% UK market share for the first time.
