
KesselsKramer Amsterdam beat two agencies to win the pitch, which was handled through Agency Assessments International’s Dublin office. Aer Lingus issued an RFI to agencies in July. The incumbent is the Dublin-based shop Irish International.
The company last reviewed its creative business in 2011, when its adspend was believed to be £4 million. VCCP Blue was the incumbent but did not repitch.
Last week, Aer Lingus was involved in a social media spat with Ryanair after "photobombing" one of its rival carrier’s ads.
International Airlines Group, the owner of British Airways, made a bid for Aer Lingus at the end of last year, reportedly to expand its number of slots at Heathrow. Aer Lingus, which is 25.1 per cent-owned by the Irish government, rejected the approach.
