Kellogg UK hierarchy changes in global reshuffle

Kellogg has promoted UK and Ireland chief Paul Norman to a new global role as vice-president of the company and president for morning foods at Kellogg USA.

From next month, Norman will relocate to the cereal brand's global headquarters in the US. He will be replaced as UK managing director by Tony Palmer, currently pre-sident of the natural and frozen foods divisions at Kellogg USA.

Palmer, who will take responsibility for all marketing activity, will report to Tim Mobsby, president of Kellogg Europe.

His appointment comes just a week after UK marketing director Michael Allen was promoted to senior vice-president for marketing at Kellogg's Snacks.

The departure of Allen, who returns to the US after two years, will see Kevin Brennan, marketing director of Kellogg in Australia and New Zealand, become UK marketing chief. Brennan was previously director of European marketing.

Norman and Allen have been promoted after achieving significant success for Kellogg in the UK, including a successful extension into the cereal bar market with the Nutri-Grain brand and Special K cereal bar.

Kellogg has a 40% share of the UK cereal market, with its flagship Corn Flakes second only to Weetabix.
