
He replaces Roger Holland, who is stepping down from the post after 20 years with the committee.
Donaldson will join from the Newspaper Society, where he has worked for the past five years and is currently head of research and insight.
Prior to the Newspaper Society, Donaldson held various research and media planning roles at companies including the Financial Times, BBC World News, Saatchi & Saatchi London, MediaVest and Time Magazine.
He will assume his new role on 1 August.
