JWT London hired O'Donnell after he lead the creation of a kinetic football pitch in Brazil for Shell as a freelancer at the agency. He was previously employed by Jack Morton Worldwide where he worked on the Chevrolet account for seven months. He has also worked with Samsung, Sony, Ford, MTV, Condé Nast and Selfridges.
In his new role, O'Donnell will report to Jonathan Terry, head of JWT Live, and will focus on attracting new clients, as well as continuing his work for Shell.
O’Donnell said: "Joining JWT was a big decision, but the Shell #makethefuture Brazil project opened my eyes to the possibilities of a ‘live’ offer within advertising. As events become more about creating advertising content, JWT is in the perfect place to lead this exciting industry."
