Rudaizky, the founder of the communications agency RudaizkyRyan and a former managing partner at Saatchi & Saatchi, replaces Alex van Gestel, who becomes the global business director on JWT's recently acquired Samsung account.
Rudaizky founded Rud-aizkyRyan, which specialises in fusing public relations with advertising, two years ago. The company will cease trading at the end of this month. Its TNT client will be moved into JWT's Label subsidiary.
Before that he spent 15 years at Saatchi & Saatchi. After joining as a graduate trainee in 1987, he was made group account director in 1995, before becoming a managing partner in 1999.
Rudaizky's global experience includes nine years managing the Visa International account. He also led the successful Sony "go create" pitch, as well as working on Schweppes Europe, Mars and Procter & Gamble.
Michael Maedel, the worldwide president of JWT, said: "John is the perfect candidate to succeed Alex in managing Vodafone. He has the right mix of international experience and entrepreneurial vision. Mobile telephony is a fascinating and rapidly changing market that demands cutting-edge creative solutions and John is well-positioned to ensure we deliver that to Vodafone."
Rudaizky added: "Running my own company and fusing the disciplines of advertising and public relations has been an amazing experience. But the draw of global brands like Vodafone and JWT, which is set for a fantastic new era, was too hard to resist."
