The third series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here burst into UK homes last Monday and delivered ITV1 an average audience of 9.9 million across the week.

ITV1 had an average 40.1% viewing share for the reality television show, which is staged in Australia and this year features glamour model Jordan and pop has-been Peter André.

The jungle show also secured the third highest audience for ITV2 since it launched in December 1998. The channel, which shows I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now!, the longer, digital version, drew 1.8 million viewers.

At 8pm on Wednesday, on ITV1, the show peaked with its highest audience (with the exception of last year’s final) – 10.8 million viewers and a 42.2% share.

On BBC1, Scambusters managed only a 14.4% share in that timeslot, attracting just 3.7 million viewers.

Channel 4 equalled that with a 14.2% share with its homes show Relocation, Relocation.

Another newsmaker this week was the start of the last series of Sex and the City on C4 on Friday.

Carrie and her pals drew in a respectable 2.3 million viewers for the channel in its 10pm slot, giving C4 a 10.7% viewing share.
