My career turning point was...
...when I was introduced to Titan Outdoor's chairman, Bill Apfelbaum, while working at the international management consultancy AlixPartners.
In May 2006, shortly after Titan bought Maiden Outdoor, Bill asked me to carry out some key initiatives in its newly acquired UK business, which had experienced its fair share of challenges in the past.
Five months on, as I was preparing to move on to my next consulting gig, Bill wanted to have a word with me. In true Bill fashion, he "made me an offer I couldn't refuse", asking me to stick around to see the turnaround through as Titan's UK chief executive.
It's hard to believe three years have passed since then and, so far, the experience has been everything Bill promised. Looking back, I marvel at how our team has been able to transform the UK business.
