Johnston Press sells 33% stake in Two Boroughs Radio

LONDON - Regional newspaper group Johnston Press has sold its 33% stake in Two Boroughs Radio to the Local Radio Company for £1.2m.

Johnston Press originally acquired the stake as part of the acquisition of Regional Independent Media in April 2002.

The Local Radio Company is a consortium headed by Richard Wheatly and Alistair Mackenzie, the former heads of Jazz FM. In May, it bought Radio Investments, the loss-making local radio group, from GWR for £10.6m in cash.
