Johnnie Walker in global malt push

Diageo has chosen Bartle Bogle Hegarty to create the launch strategy and advertising behind its Johnnie Walker Green Label whisky brand.

The product, bottled at 15 years old, used to be known as Johnnie Walker Pure Malt, but only had limited availability.

The global roll-out, which begins in the US and Taiwan this Christmas, will mark the first time it has had broad distribution.

After BBH, a Diageo roster agency, creates the launch strategy, it will be adapted by local agencies.

The whisky is expected to be available in the UK early in the new year, although Diageo is still finalising its marketing plans.

Dare Digital has created a website to support the launch, which is intended to lead visitors through an interactive journey to discover more about the whisky's distinctive characteristics.
