John Bartle is to bring his experience of developing one of the
UK’s most successful advertising brands to new media as chairman of the
online planning and buying specialist, i-Level.
Like many companies in the internet sector, i-Level has grown rapidly
since its launch last April and Bartle’s appointment is designed to
bring seasoned management experience to the company.
Bartle said: ’What I bring is experience and knowledge in building
brands and preserving culture. The same rules apply in new media as they
do in old. I will anchor them and keep their feet on the ground.’
Bartle was approached to join i-Level immediately after announcing his
retirement from Bartle Bogle Hegarty last summer. Andrew Walmsley, chief
executive of i-Level, knew Bartle well from his time as the head of
digital media at BBH.
’As soon as I read in 北京赛车pk10 that John was retiring, I was on the
phone. At BBH he helped to create one of the foremost agency brands in
the world. Those are exactly the kind of qualities we want to develop
here.’
It is the second role Bartle has taken on since retiring from BBH last
month. Last week, the Central Office of Information appointed him as a
non-executive director.
