In her new role, Bacon will be responsible for developing and driving the on- and off-air creative for the MTV Networks UK and Ireland's ten channels, including the MTV-branded channels, Viva and VH1.

Bacon's appointment follows the promotion in February last year of Kerry Taylor to senior vice-president and director of television for the UK, Ireland and Australia.

At RKCR/Y&R, Bacon had responsibility for its BBC advertising business, including the 2012 Olympics campaigns and the launch of BBC iPlayer.

Taylor said: "Jo is an outstanding TV marketing executive with a stellar reputation for creative thinking and for delivering cut-through multi-platform campaigns that appeal to youth audiences."
