The former Top Gear host even manages to sneak in a nod to Brexit in the 30-second spot as he sends the drones to "our old friends in continental Europe" from Eastbourne.
The use of drones in the ad is significant since Amazon is testing the use of drones in the UK for package delivery services, as part of its aim to deliver parcels within 30 minutes of purchase.
In a similar vein to Amazon’s previous Fire Stick ad in October last year, Clarkson’s plug for the Fire Stick also promotes The Grand Tour, his new Amazon Prime Show with fellow ex-BBC Top Gear hosts James May and Richard Hammond.
The trio left the BBC after Clarkson was told last year that his Top Gear contract would not be renewed after an internal investigation found the presenter had physically and verbally assaulted Oisin Tymon, a Top Gear producer.
The Grand Tour will launch on Amazon Prime Video on 18 November, exclusively for Prime members, in the first of three series in which the trio film from locations across the world.
The ad was created by Lucky Generals, while Steve Reeves directed the spot through Another Film Company. Initiative handles Amazon’s above-the-line media business.
The spot will air on ITV tonight during the latest episode of Cold Feet at 9pm.
