Jeff Fergus departs Burnetts rather than move to US

A management shake-up at B|Com3 Group has resulted in the departure of Jeff Fergus, the London-based Leo Burnett Worldwide group president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

LONDON (Brand Republic) – A management shake-up at B|Com3 Group has resulted in the departure of Jeff Fergus, the London-based Leo Burnett Worldwide group president for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Fergus is leaving rather than move to the US. No immediate replacement has been announced.

Returning from the US, however, is Steve Gatfield, chief operating officer for Leo Burnett Worldwide. He moves from Chicago to London to assume strategic responsibility for Europe.

Gatfield will receive operational and client management support from Kerry Rubie, vice-chairman of Leo Burnett Worldwide, and Peter Walker, who is promoted from regional finance director to chief operating officer for EMEA.

Alastair Aird, formerly European financial controller, is succeeding Walker as regional finance director. Rubie, Walker and Aird will continue to be based out of Burnett’s regional headquarters in London.

Linda Wolf, chairman and chief executive officer of Chicago-based Leo Burnett Worldwide, said the new team and structure would allow the agency to align the region with its global corporate development.

The management shake-up is part of an effort to fuse corporate and client strategy at Leo Burnett Worldwide in the EMEA regions.
