Jamie's School Dinners ads under investigation after complaints from gays and women

LONDON - Poster ads for Channel 4 series 'Jamie's School Dinners', which feature a crude reference to carrots and a pair of breasts, are under investigation by the advertising watchdog after 17 complaints from the gay community and women.

The complainants argue that the posters, made up to look like they have been authentically graffitied by school kids and show a defaced Oliver with breasts drawn on his overalls in black pen and the words "Stick your carrots up your arse", are offensive to gays and women.

The posters also feature lines of graffiti saying "The kids are having none of it", "Don't come back salad boy" and "Your food is minging".

Complainants also said the ad itself was irresponsible because it encouraged graffiti.

In 'Jamie's School Dinners' celebrity chef Jamie Oliver goes back to school to try to cook a healthy meal for 1,000 schoolchildren on a budget of 37p a person a day.

The poster ads and TV promotional spots for the series feature Oliver talking about how much the kids like him and his meals while the kids graffiti his image to show that they do not.
