The celebrity chef, who has been a vocal campaigner for healthy eating in schools, will discuss the Government’s childhood obesity strategy, which is expected to be published within the next few weeks.

Oliver will share a stage with Andy Duncan, the president of the AA, in front of an audience of industry professionals on Thursday, 28 January.

The event will ask the ad industry to consider how advertising can take responsibility forwards in 2016.

After giving evidence to Parliament’s Health Select Committee last year, Oliver published his own obesity strategy in which he called for a 9pm watershead for high fat and high sugar advertising on television.

Lead 2016 will also feature keynote addresses from Angela Knight, the chair of the Office of Tax Simplification; Lord Browne, the former chief executive of BP, and Christopher Graham, the information commissioner.
