'Riots' will be presented by Brown, and will include first-hand footage of the recent Edinburgh riots with people's experiences of the clashes and history of the fallout.
It will also tell the story of the 1990 Poll Tax Riot in London and go on to chart the historical lineage of each clash and explain the wider significance and fallout.
The programme will be shown in 10 half-an-hour slots and has been produced by Vashca. Kate Williams is executive producer and Glenn Barden the series producer.
'Riots' is one of two new factual shows announced by Bravo for 2006 as Jonathan Webb, director of programmes, fulfills his promise to increase the channel's factual output over the coming months for its 16- to 44-year-old audience.
The second new show on the men's entertainment channel, 'Man's World', features presenter Ashley Hames as he takes on a variety of tough jobs. Viewers will see Hames travel to Bombay to become a rat killer, to Argentina as an ice-breaker, to New Zealand as a sewer worker and to Alaska as a crab fisherman.
'Man's World', produced by independent production company Shine, will consist of 17 30-minute slots.
Bravo is part of Telewest's Flextech content, which also includes Living TV, Challenge and Trouble and shows programmes such as 'Alias', 'Charmed' and 'Will & Grace'.
Telewest is currently in the process of selling off its Flextech arm, as it prepares for a £5.5bn merger with rival cable group NTL.
BSkyB, RTL and Hallmark TV owner Sparrowhawk are believed to be among the parties interested in acquiring the group and have until the end of the first week of September to put in their bids.
