The cheeseboard is to span the entire length of Tower Bridge walkway, and it will be in place from 7.30pm through to 8.30pm this evening.

Members of the public are being invited to stop by to view the cheeseboard, which is said to take the art of cheese and cracker pairing to a whole new level.

The activity is designed to celebrate 130 years of Jacob's Cream Cracker offering. The cheeseboard promises to offer a feast for both the eyes and taste buds, with samples available to passers-by.

Agency 3 Monkeys Communications is behind the stunt.

Ted Linehan, director of savoury brands at United Biscuits, said: "The key to the longevity and success of Jacob’s Cream Crackers as the market leader is due, in no small part, to their brilliant simplicity. While we are constantly looking at ways to develop the brand and ensure it stays modern, it remains the classic cracker, using the same ingredients and special baking techniques as it has for 130 years.

"As one of our flagship products, it has benefited strongly from our Jacob’s Masterbrand strategy over the past year, and we are continuing to invest significantly in innovation and promotional activity, looking ahead to 2016."
