Jacob restructures investment at Starcom MediaVest

Iain Jacob, the chief executive of Starcom MediaVest, has restructured the agency's investment department in a bid to bolster its press expertise.

Ian Tournes becomes Starcom MediaVest's press buying director. He recently returned to Starcom to run its BT business, after a stint running COI Communications at MediaCom. He will now work across the agency's portfolio of clients.

Tournes will report to Jamie Pearson who has taken the new role of director of non-TV, covering press, radio, outdoor and cinema. He reports directly to Matt Blackborn, Starcom MediaVest's executive buying director.

In the television investment department, Kevin West and John Davidson become the joint directors of television. They will head the TV department and will also report to Blackborn.

Blackborn said: "We have created a very clear and senior investment unit management line-up. This team will ensure that we are both driving individual media skills and specialisms as well as embracing the opportunity to deal effectively across media."

Elsewhere in the agency, Richard Townsend has been promoted to become the head of digital to work across the Starcom UK Group and Duncan Sillence has been made a business director and joins the operational management team at Starcom MediaVest.

The promotions mark Jacob's first management changes since becoming the chief executive in September.
