Boughton has been brought in as the venue's director of sales and will be responsible for increasing the level of event business at the hotel.
Previously she was reponsible for transforming the sales event business at Wembley Stadium, which hosted everything from the AEO Awards to Soccorex during her time there.
Boughton told Event that contary to widespread reports, she was too young to retire and is in fact looking forward to her new challenge.
Including nine years at Wembley she boasts more than 35 years experience from the industry, and has worked with a variety of associations including the HBAA (Hotel Booking Agents Association) as a PR consultant, and has been an active member of both the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) and a former board member of UK Inbound (formerly British Incoming Tour Operators Association).
