ITV.com set up for summer relaunch

ITV will complete the overhaul of its portal ITV.com by the end of July, the broadcaster has revealed. ITV will start updating its site today (Tuesday), launching live streams of its four main channels and unveiling updates of popular sections including its soaps coverage.

At launch, ITV.com will include several revamped sections, although the majority of updates will be rolled out weekly between now and the end of July.

The relaunch will include an option for viewers to view content for up to 30 days after it is broadcast on TV, although this will only be available in certain genres to begin with.

The video-on-demand service is similar to Channel 4's 4degD, which launched in November 2006. ITV is aiming to cash in on putting its footage online by selling video advertising around the content.
