The penultimate episode of the six-parter starring Kris Marshall as an unscrupulous estate agent, averaged an audience of 2.25m, giving it an audience share of 10.4% in the 9-10pm slot.
It was beaten by the finale of BBC One's drama series 'The Street', which took 19% of the audience, averaging 4.1m viewers, as well as BBC2's long-running music quiz 'Never Mind The Buzzcocks', hosted by Simon Amstell, which brought in 2.54m and earned an 11.6% share.
Channel 4's 'Last Party at the Palace', a documentary about the end of the presentation of debutantes at court, just edged in ahead of 'Sold'. It had an average audience of 2.28m, and a share of 10.5%, although these figures include a small contribution from Channel 4's +1 digital channel whereas ITV1 does not have an equivalent time-shifted channel.
Five's 'The Hotel Inspectors' lagged behind with a 6.4% share of the available audience.
Earlier in the evening, things were brighter for ITV1. Stalwart soap 'Emmerdale' was seen by 7.1m viewers, giving it a 35.8% share, and 'The Bill' drew 4.9m viewers, just trailing the BBC One series 'Waterloo Road', which saw 5m tuning in.
'Sold' has only one more episode before it finishes its run. The show also stars Antony Head, famous for his role as the librarian Giles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'.
It is sponsored by Arla Foods' upmarket cheese brand Castello.
