ITV1 misery continues with just 2.6m for 'Harley Street'

LONDON - ITV1's medical drama 'Harley Street' was watched by a lowly 2.6m viewers last night, with BBC One documentary 'Traffic Cops' easily winning the primetime slot.

The penultimate episode of 'Harley Street', which has failed in its attempt to emulate the success of 'Footballers Wives' with its joyfully bad dialogue and trashy storylines, captured an 11.9% share of the audience between 9pm and 10pm.

The slot was won by BBC One's long-running documentary series 'Traffic Cops', with 4.8m viewers and a 22% share of the audience.

The latest instalment of Channel 4's 'Big Brother' was second with 2.8m viewers and a 12.9% share of the audience. Including figures from Channel 4+1, it attracted 3.2m viewers and a 14.8% share of the audience.

It was up against BBC Two's satirical comedy 'Mock the Week', which netted 2.6m viewers and an 11.8% share between 9pm and 9.30pm.

Five's live coverage of Aston Villa's UEFA Cup qualifier against Icelandic outfit FH Hafnarfjordur drew 754,000 viewers and a 3.9% share at 6.50-9.05pm

Later on in the evening, Channel 4's 'The Charlotte Church Show' pulled in 1.3m viewers and a 7.1% share at 10-10.45pm. Including Channel 4+1's ratings, it had 1.5m viewers and an 8% share.
