ITV1 dominates Sunday night with eight million for Dancing On Ice

LONDON - ITV1 was the big winner during primetime last night with 'Dancing on Ice' and 'Boyzone: A Tribute to Stephen Gately' both pulling at least 7.5 million viewers, according to unofficial overnight figures.

The first instalment of 'Dancing on Ice', between 7.15pm and 8.30pm, was watched by an average of eight million viewers, a 29.8% share of the audience.

The hour-long tribute to Boyzone member Stephen Gately, who died in October last year, had an average of 7.5 million viewers between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, a 27.7% share of the available audience.

'Dancing on Ice - The Skate-Off', was watched by an average of 7.5 million viewers, a 28.5% share of the available audience, between 9.30pm and 10pm.

BBC One was the second most watched channel between 9pm and 10pm. David Dimbleby's historical documentary ‘Seven Ages of Britain' was watched by an average of 3.3 million viewers, a 12.6% share of the audience.

In the same slot the third episode of five-part series 'Wonders of the Solar System' presented by Professor Brian Cox was watched by an average of three million viewers, an 11.3% share.

Channel 4's new twist on the home makeover genre, 'The Restoration Man' was watched by an average of 2.3 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm. The figure, which includes the contribution of Channel 4 +1, accounts for an 8.6% share of the audience.

Five's showing of Jessica Alba film 'Into the Blue' was watched by an average of 1.5 million viewers between 8pm and 10pm, a 5.4% share of the audience.
