The Intellectual Property Office ITV Studios, which owns the rights to both the 'Coronation Street' and Corrie brands, has made applications for a series of products.

The new items will extend the programme's franchise and will be in addition to foodstuffs that have already been released under the show's banner.

These include Holland Pies' Rovers Return-themed dishes, including: Beef & Veg Hotpot; Chicken, Leek and White Wine; and Steak and Ale pies.

The pies are available in Tesco, Morrisons and Iceland across the UK. In September 2010 they were promoted through the Northern Foods-owned company's first TV advert in 10 years.

The tie-ins will ape the channels's roll out of 'This Morning' branded goods. The commercial broadcaster has signalled it is to launch a series of branded homeware products including pans from Prestige, duvets, bed linen and cushions, which are understood to be licensed through Manchester-based textiles firm Turner Bianca.

At the end of last year advertisers paid ad during 'Coronation Street' hour-long live special.

For its 50th anniversary celebrations including baker Warburtons, brewer JW Lees, soap manufacturer Imperial Leather, Typhoo tea and furniture supplier Harveys, which remains the lead sponsor for the show.
