The deal, brokered by digital agency Siren, will use MySpace’s reach amongst 16 to 34-year-olds to help enhance the ITV2 comedy show’s “appeal and credibility” in the demographic.Siren has built a homepage for Comedy Cuts on MySpace, featuring an 18+ exclusive trailer and sketch content, while the 50 comedians who will appear on the show have also created pages that have been linked together. ITV Productions, which makes the show, will also use the website to give users the chance to appear in a future series of Comedy Cuts by uploading their own sketches. The deal is a boost for MySpace, which is currently building its coverage of UK grassroots comedians ahead of the launch of its own dedicated comedy section next month.
