
The strong recovery in advertising this year has more than offset a decline in external revenue for ITV Studios.
Group revenue for the nine months to 30 September climbed 11% year on year to £1.46bn, according to this morning's trading update.
However, ITV's chief executive Adam Crozier stressed that the broadcaster was proceeding with caution amid uncertainty about the economic outlook next year.
He said the recovery in the television advertising market "does not disguise the significant challenges ITV faces and we remain focused on delivering the five-year Transformation Plan".
The company did not provide a figure for online advertising revenue performance.

Broadcasting and online revenue for the nine months to 30 September rose 16% to £1.25bn. ITV Studios external revenue (excluding money generated from selling content to ITV channels) dropped 10% to £205m.
The broadcaster's share of adult commercial impacts is on a downward trend, comparing the year to 6 November with the same period last year.
The ITV channel family is down from 39.6% to 39.3% while the main channel is down from 28.2% to 26.8%.
ITV.com has increased users over the same timeframe, from eight million to nine million, but average monthly video views have dropped from 16.6 million to 15.6 million.
