What do you get up to? "Apart from living a good life to the very
full, we offer international fashion and style brands integrated
marketing solutions, via cutting-edge magazines, A-list parties,
photography, contemporary-art publications, websites and original
thinking," claims ad manager Christopher Lockwood.
Where are you located? "In Hoxton's darkest basement."
What's the best thing about working for Dazed & Confused? "Leading not
following, and always breaking new ground with the coolest print
products in the world."
And the worst? "Spending so much time trying to explain that quality is
ultimately worth so much more than quantity."
What's the office like? "Old Street. Spacious, split-level studio, live
workspace behind gallery. Photography studio at rear, near transport,
shower, all mod cons. Must be seen - 020-7336 0766."
What are your colleagues like? "A bizarre cross between people from the
art-block at school, inmates from a high-security young offenders
institute and fashion dogs. Oh, and there's a constant flow of beautiful
people."
What about perks? "Strictly on a need-to-know basis."
What's the training like? "An education: 99 per cent inspiration, 1 per
cent perspiration."
Where do you hang out after working hours? "We'd rather not say ... but
you probably wouldn't get in, anyway!"
How do you get ahead? "Believe in the magazine, keep on keeping on and
be anything but boring."
If the team were a pop group, who it be? "The rat-pack crooners -
internationally renowned, in a league of its own and always looking for
fresh vocal talent."
