Describe the marketing team in three words.
Adventurous, focused, witty.
STA has recently tied up with Wagamama to devise food-themed holidays in Asia. How do you come up with marketing ideas?
Our in-house creative team is fantastic at working with the rest of the business.
What is the main marketing challenge you face?
How to market the entire world effectively.
What are the perks?
Our roles are very broad, so there is no chance of getting bored. We also get to learn about the world and its gems every day, and then visit them.
Is there a dress code?
Not per se, but the online guys often turn up in matching jumpers.
Do you socialise outside office hours?
Yes, we pop to our local, The Dev, and we have an in-house football team, which is part of a local league. There was talk of buying The Dev, or at least owning equity, as it would probably be cheaper.
What are the hours like?
They can be long, but this is balanced by the opportunity to travel and see the world.
What about the salary and benefits package?
We are given an annual travel allowance that increases with length of service. We also get staff discounts and the chance to take sabbaticals.
Are there any downsides?
Creating inspiring campaigns about exotic locations sitting at your desk on a dreary day in London can be depressing.
Is there anything else particularly interesting about working there?
We have a very open-plan office with music playing and a regular ‘Friday Five' session - where someone gets to choose their top five songs of all time.
