LONDON (Brand Republic) – UK television regulator the ITC has announced restructuring plans that will see 22 jobs axed and the closure of six of its nine regional offices.
The regulator is also cutting budgets for engineering research and development and so-called discretionary spending.
The regulator said the cuts were needed to save money as part of a fundamental reform of the organisation.
The restructuring comes just weeks before the UK government is due to release its communications white paper. The paper is expected to address the issue of broadcasting regulation and it is widely anticipated that a single communications watchdog will be created.
